Week 10 : — Letter J
Objectives
- Recognize J (upper/lower), produce /j/ initial sound.
- Read/write simple J words (jar, jam, jug).
- Improve pencil control (tracing lines) and fine motor via colouring/dot‑to‑dot.
- Activities (30–40 min)
- Warm up (3 min): J sound chant + gesture.
- Letter demo (5 min): show big J (trace in air) + child practice large motions.
- Multi‑sensory formation (7 min): form J with playdough or finger in sand.
- Workbook tracing (7 min): trace J lines + write J on dashed lines.
- Phonics game (6 min): “Colour everything that starts with J” (page).
- Fine motor (5 min): jellyfish dot‑to‑dot or colour.
- Read‑aloud & response (5 min): read a short J story; child says favourite J word and writes/traces it.
