Week 18 – Letter Q

– Objectives

  – Recognize Q and /kw/ or /k/ + w cluster initial; read/write basic Q words (quack, queen, quilt).

  – Build awareness of two‑letter sound cluster (qu).

– Activities

  1. Warm up (3): say /kw/ together, show lips/tongue shape.

  2. Letter formation (5): show Q formation (O + tail).

  3. Tactile formation (7): make Q with circle + tail using string+stick.

  4. Workbook tracing (7): Q tracing + qu words.

  5. Colouring/sorting (6): colour items that start with Q.

  6. Dot‑to‑dot quack picture (5).

  7. Story & response (5): read short Q story; child says favourite Q word and traces/writes it.

  – Checklist: identify Q U/L, produce /kw/ sound, write/trace quack or queen.
